This book is the equivalent to what birds produce when they regurgitate chewed up food into their chicks mouths.All this is is a random sampling from other, more prominent, self help/self improvement books that have been chewed up and regurgitated in blended form to lost little souls with their mouths agape looking for something, ANYTHING, to fill the void. These lost little birds are hungry, but they don't know what for. Sure, this'll do.The has no originality and from what I can tell, doesn't even follow his own advice. It's all just an exercise in metal masterbation; stroking ones own ego.So much so, I did a little digging and his social media and blog follow suit with my estimation.The spelling and grammar and general understanding of the English language are also pitiful. I understand it's self published, but c'mon. Fork some cash out for an editor.Furthermore, he desperately asks his fan base (ahem -> eye roll) to leave him positive reviews on his book. Therefore, take all these poorly constructed 5 star reviews with a grain of salt.
I bought this book 3 years ago, and I refer to it every few months. If you want to take control of the seemingly unpredictable mindset in your body, this book will help you do it.The first time I read it, I applied the content to my life and I got what I needed out of it. In years to follow, as my life got more complex, refreshing myself with the material helped me out again.I would consider this the genesis material for understanding Mike's work. I use his products and services, and attended one of his seminars and this book is the bedrock of knowledge. Read it to fully appreciate the rest of what he does
The Gorilla Mindset was exactly what I needed. I had recently been bitten by a brown recluse, and had to take crazy meds to fight off the infections/damage. Afterwards, my stomach completely seized up and I was down to eating 700-800 cals/day. Mind you - I'm 23 years old, had just started Business School and my dream job. My drive as a male had completely stopped. I had no desire to lift weights, do school work or work in general. Cernovich immediately kicked the negative thoughts in my head - right in the butt. I hardly no where to begin with what this book has done for me. I've learned to manage my thoughts - and turn them into complete power. I truly feel I can do absolutely anything - because of this book. I took immense notes - and study them to lock them in. In the pic... I demonstrate where I constantly feel my new power (based on Cernos' exercises).**UPDATE 10/11/2016** Just 24 hours after my original review...Just after writing the above review - I received a call from my manager telling me they were letting me go (from what I thought was my dream job) - without giving me an accurate reason as to why. This job has been a very important part of my life - but after exercising what I had learned in this book, I was able to control my emotions - and to ensure I come out on top. Just minutes after the call, I made some calls myself and have made another dream come true - to start my own business! What I've learned from Gorilla Mindset in this situation is to take control of your emotions, and take control of the situation by "framing" it into a positive situation, where you come out a winner. With the Gorilla Mindset - you can ALWAYS WIN!
Mostly common sense. The framing chapter was good. Everything else was a rehash of stuff that I already know or have been doing.
I’ve had this book on my nightstands for months telling myself I’d “get to itâ€. It’s kind of funny I decided to get serious just as Mike did.The book is easy to read and the information and ideas presented flow together seamlessly throughout. As many people point out the ideas and points Mike makes seem basic but I think that’s the point. Mike “reframed†basic ideas and shows others how to effectively apply them to their lives. Maybe it doesn’t work for every but I’d say the book is a very good starting point for those trying to breath new life into their minds and body’s. Well worth. Cheers.
Well written, good information, nutritional info is changing all the time especially with the advent of the keto and paleo diets coming into vogue and the studies being done by Peter Attia and other scientists who are both medical doctors as well as athletes.Fasting is under-rated!! And under used. Mostly, this is an Inspirational book with good tips: bottom line, think it, plan it, do it. All else is useless if you don’t implement.
